Steven Lowell Gunnell

August 14, 1956 — June 27, 2022

Steven Lowell Gunnell was born Aug 14th,1956 in Logan Utah to Gordon and LaRae Gunnell.

Steve unexpectedly  passed away on June 27th as a result of complications from Covid 19.

Steven received a degree in Fire Science and was an accomplished firefighter serving as Captain for both Kaysville City and Ogden City Fire Departments. He also served his community working with the Davis County Health Department, Hazmat Team and various Search and Rescue Teams. He was truly a hero.

He enjoyed his boat, RZR, cabin, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved camping trips to Bear Lake and spending time with family in Lake Powell.

He married Kim Larson Gunnell on May 12th, 1983. They spent 35 years together and had four beautiful children, Ashley(Judge) Green, Amber(Aaron) Munn, Amanda Lee Gunnell and Jordan(Bree) Gunnell. He loved being a grandpa and loved his three grandchildren, Josie and Jake Green and Ava Munn.

For the past three years Steve and his partner Peggy Empey enjoyed many fun adventures together. They loved to travel and acted like two teenagers in love.

He will be remembered for his unconditional love and willingness to help anyone in need.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 30th in Farmington Arts Center, 120 S Main Street, Farmington, UT 84025, from 11:00 – 1:00 P.M. followed by a graveside service at Centerville Cemetery.
