Sherry Lou Kunz

May 19, 1943 — July 6, 2022

Sherry Kunz 79, of Layton, went to her eternal home with Jesus on July 6th, 2022, with her family by her side.

She was born to parents Howard Lewis Wheat and Donna Jewel Mann, 19th of May 1943 in Ogden, Utah. Sherry graduated from Cokeville High School and after raising her family went back to school and received her BS from Weber State College, graduating with Honors, and received an MS in education from University of Phoenix.

She was married to Glen Kunz on 12 December 1963 and they were blessed with 4 Children. Sherry is survived by her brother Brent Lindford, her daughter Dona Braswell, her sons Clark and Kevin Kunz, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Tina Louise, brother Robert Wheat, sister Pat Wheat and her parents.

Sherry loved to garden, to read, to learn and to serve in the church.  She was a dedicated teacher and was presented many awards for teaching and for her impact on her students. She kept in touch with several of her former students, and many will miss her encouraging presence.

Sherry had a great faith in God. Her faith in Jesus and the church were an essential part of her life. She spent her life mentoring youth through teaching, community activities and strived to be Christlike throughout her life.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, July 9th at the Layton Creekside Stake center, 1480 Flint Street. A viewing will be from 9:00-9:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. The interment will be at the Montpelier, Idaho cemetery.  She will be interred next to her husband Glen and their daughter Tina. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to support cancer research.
