Shelley Higgins Argyle

February 26, 1952 — November 18, 2021

Shelley Higgins Argyle, 69 years of age, passed away on November 18th, 2021, at Timpanogos Regional Medical Center in Orem, Utah, after a battle with the Covid-19 virus and its terrible complications.

Shelley was born on February 26th, 1952 at St. Anthony Mercy Hospital in Pocatello, Idaho, along with her twin sister (Sharon), to Edward F. and Phyllis M. Higgins.

Shelley attended and graduated high school from Pasco High School (Pasco, Washington) in 1970.  Shelley immediately went to work as an operator for Mountain Bell Phone Company, using the operator switchboards wires and plugs.  She continued to work hard and eventually moved into the data processing department becoming a “Data Specialist”.  Shelley was able to make it through the many buyouts and layoffs that happened with the Mountain Bell Company and retired after 30+ years of employment with the phone company.

Shelley married her first husband in 1972 and had her first son, Aaron in 1976. That marriage ended in divorce and Shelley had to learn how to balance being a single mother and working to support them for many years.  She found her true love and married her eternal companion, Wesley Argyle, on May 26th, 1983, in the Salt Lake Temple.  Shelley and Wes settled down in a little red brick house in West Bountiful, Utah and grew their family by one in 1985 when her second son, Robert, was born.

After both of her sons had graduated from high school and served LDS missions, Shelley began a long and rewarding career doing volunteer work for her church.  She served many years at the LDS Church Office Building, where she enjoyed showing off the observation floor that had great views of downtown Salt Lake City.  She most recently has been serving at the Bountiful Utah Temple.  She worked as many rotations as she could, and she would rarely turn down a chance to substitute when others called on her.  She truly loved the peace and spirit that came when serving within the temple.  Shelley also served many years as a “bishop’s wife” and supported her husband during his years in that church calling.

Shelly is survived by her husband, Wesley Argyle, West Bountiful, Utah; son, Aaron (Karen) Eisenbarth, Syracuse, Utah; son Robert Argyle, West Bountiful, Utah; Sister, Sharon Higgins, Pocatello, Idaho; Sister-in-Law, Gayle Argyle, West Bountiful, Utah; Grandchildren Ashley & Ethan Eisenbarth, Syracuse, Utah.

Shelley is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Phyllis Higgins, and her older brother Steven Higgins.

Funeral services will be held November 27th, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the West Bountiful First Ward Building, 311 North 800 West, West Bountiful, Utah.  Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, and again Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services.

Interment at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
