Sheila Jayne Milligan Leech

August 9, 1960 — July 5, 2022

On Tuesday, July 5, 2022 our sweet mother, grandmother (Mugga), sister, and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones she loved most in the home that she built and raised her family in. Mom was our bright light and the leader of our pack. She was a true wolf at heart with a nurturing soul. She fought so valiantly this last bit, no matter what was thrown at her.

Sheila Jayne Milligan Leech was born to Don Stephen Milligan and Myrna Irene Heywood on August 9, 1960, her dad’s 32nd birthday (a fact she was very proud of) in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was raised in Bountiful where she attended Woods Cross High School and graduated from Viewmont in 1978. She enjoyed many hobbies and adventures as long as she was doing them with people she loved.
Sheila met her husband Rex at a square dancing club in 1985 and they were married on April 19, 1986. They moved into the house she had already started building in Kaysville a few months later, where they both remained for the rest of their lives. Sheila and Rex had 3 sons: Stephen (Shila), Michael (Rachel) and Daniel who they loved and supported in anything they put their heart or minds to. Mom loved to take us on vacations to explore and learn new things and spend time with our family. She especially enjoyed and was very involved in scouting. She helped all 3 of her son’s attain the rank of eagle scout and was a cub scout leader for her boys as well as many others and enjoyed helping other leaders to enjoy and be more involved in scouting as well. She loved her son’s and was at any event or program they were ever a part of with nothing but support and encouragement.
Sheila ran a daycare for a number of years and loved each of those children as if they were her own. After running a daycare, she went back to school to become a medical assistant, a job that she loved and was able to help people and touch their lives in any way she could. She enjoyed making friends and cared deeply about anyone she met. Her love could be felt from miles away. Our mom loved her family to the fullest and would truly sacrifice anything for them.
Mom was luckily able to spend so much precious time with her 3 grandson’s (Graham, Liam, and Rowan) and show them as well as tell them how much they are loved. She will always be called Mugga, a nickname given to her by her grandbabies that she cherished. What a sweet and loving Mom & Mugga that we were lucky enough to be blessed with and will feel her love and remember her forever to the moon and back. The memories she left will last a lifetime.
Our family would like to thank Marcie and Katie from Tender Care, for showing mom such compassion and dignity in her final days.
