Shauna Glee Draper Naisbitt

June 7, 1935 — June 16, 2021

Our loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend passed away peacefully on June 16, 2021 with family by her side. Shauna was born on June 7, 1935 in Glendale, Utah to Franklin Romaine Draper and Elda Lydia Spencer Draper. She grew up in the MacTavish Court neighborhood in Salt Lake City and graduated from West High School. She met the love of her life, Fred (Bud) Naisbitt from the same neighborhood and they were married on February 5, 1955. They made their home in Rose Park, Utah where they raised four daughters and eventually moved to Centerville, Utah.

Upon graduating from high school, Shauna worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company. After starting a family, she worked for Grainger’s grocery store as a part time cashier, and later at Albertsons as a cashier, where she made many lifetime friends. Going anywhere with Shauna certainly took some time because she always ran into someone she knew and had to visit with them.

Shauna was an avid bowler and was on many leagues at Rancho Lanes, Bountiful Bowl and Orchard Bowl. She was always a favorite substitute, filling in on various teams and she treasured all the friends she made there. She also golfed on ladies leagues at West Bountiful golf course. She loved to tease Fred, because she got a Hole in One as a novice player and he never got one in all his years of golfing.

Fred worked for Chevron Chemical and in 1985, after all the girls were married, Fred was transferred and he and Shauna moved to Rock Springs, Wyoming, where they made many lifelong friends. After several years in Rock Springs, Fred retired, and he and Shauna returned to their home on Chase Lane in Centerville.

Shauna loved snowmobiling and gardening. She loved spending time with family and dear friends at Flaming Gorge and at the family cabin near Park City. Most of all Shauna loved her family. The house on Chase Lane was where the family gathered for countless Sunday dinners. The grandkids loved being there and Grandma Shauna always had their favorite treats and toys. She cherished every member of the family, and made everyone feel loved.

Shauna had a way of making everyone around her feel special. She remembered names of everyone she met, and she truly listened and cared about what they had to say. She will be missed by so many.

The Inn at Barton Creek was home to Shauna for the last six years, where she enjoyed the onsite hair salon, balloon volleyball, wee bowling, bingo, and of course watching every Utah Jazz game. The family would like to sincerely thank all the staff for their wonderful care, love and friendship. They truly were family to her, and we are forever grateful.

Shauna is survived by her daughters Leslie Sorensen, Stacey Maxfield (Bob), Bobbi Ellis (Gary), Jana Wolfe (Ralph); 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents Franklin Romaine Draper, Elda Lydia Spencer Draper, husband Fred Naisbitt and siblings Scott Draper, Myrna Draper and Karen Tollefson.

Funeral services and viewing will be held at Russon Mortuary 295 No. Main, Bountiful, Utah. Viewing times will be Thursday, June 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, June 25 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 25.
