Scott Larsen, Sr.

Scott Lee Larsen passed away on October 29, 2021, in Bountiful, Utah due to liver failure. Scott was born on April 10, 1941 in Salt Lake City as the ninth of eleven children to Norman Carl Larsen and Bergetta Nelson Larsen. He lived his entire life in Bountiful, Utah. He married Laura Taylor on May 29, 1970 and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.
Scott was a graduate of Bountiful High School. Following high school, he served in the United States Army 30th Field Artillery Regiment. After his military service, he received degrees from Salt Lake Technical Institute and Weber State, graduating with a degree in Business Administration Management. Scott worked for Sperry Corp. and its successors, retiring from L-3 Communications after 41 years.
Scott was known for his work ethic, sense of humor, and willingness to help others. Scott served as a long-time board member of the South Davis chapter of The National Society of the Sons of Utah Pioneers. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he positively influenced many individuals through his years of service as a youth and Boy Scout leader. He also served in a variety of ward and stake callings, including spending many years serving with the South Davis Special Needs Mutual. Scott thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his 13 grandchildren.
Scott is survived by his wife Laura and three children, Scott Jr. (Sherice) Larsen, Bergetta (Donald) Jennings, and Andrew (Abby) Larsen; his brothers Ralph, Norman, and Paul and sister Claudette, and his 13 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Carl, Gordon, and Larry and his sisters Anna, Norma, and Margene.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Chapel at 1500 South 600 East, Bountiful. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, and again Friday morning 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will follow at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
