Our precious mom passed away on a beautiful Easter Sunday afternoon of causes incident to age. She was born August 10, 1919 to Nels Leo and Lillie Amelia Hansen in Brigham City, Utah where she spent a happy childhood on the family farm with her 5 siblings. She was a graduate of Box Elder High School. She later married her high school sweetheart, Ernest Wendel. They had two daughters, Pat and Bev. Ruth became a widow at the age of 31 and supported herself and her girls in Bountiful, Utah until 1958 when she married Herald Moon of Farmington, combining their families which then numbered 8 children. Ruth and Herald spent many happy years together until his passing in 1995. Ruth and Herald had the opportunity to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Blackwell, Oklahoma and also served as temple workers. They enjoyed traveling, including visits to Russia and the Holy Lands. She was employed with the Davis County School District and loved her monthly luncheons with the retired ?school girls?. She also enjoyed membership in the D.U.P. and Farmington Literary Club. Her loved of children was evidenced in her favorite church position as Jr. Sunday School Coordinator. She later volunteered at Knowlton Elementary, where she loved the little children with whom she would read. Thank you Sandy Holman for making her a part of your class. Ruth enjoyed working in her yard, crocheting and cooking. She is remembered for her homemade rolls, ice cream and fudge. The family wishes to thank her loving ward members and friends for the many kindesses and her niece, Jolene Rausch for taking such good care of Mom for the past year and a half. She is survived by her children, Joanne Tuttle Don, H. Brent Moon Valerie, currently serving a mission in Ukraine, Stephen H. Moon Pat, Linda Hill Rodney, Patricia Larson Dean, Beverly Grant, and Merry Green Richard as well as her beloved grand and great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters and brother, Iris Richards, Pearl Ohman, and LaMar Hansen. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest and Herald, daughter Sandra Call, great-grandson Jason Tuttle, brothers, Leonda and Delbert Hansen. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 1, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Farmington 10th Ward Chapel, 850 North 300 West Compton Bench. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Friday morning from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
