Ruth Rohrbach Perkins Coleman

January 30, 1927 — February 8, 2021

Ruth passed away nine days after her ninety-fourth birthday on February 8, 2021, which was her late husband’s birthday. Ruth was born on January 30, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the daughter of Samuel & Lucy Meyer Rohrbach and the second of four children. She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from Granite High School. Ruth lost her Mother when she was nineteen years old and started working at Beneficial Life.

Ruth married Marshall Perkins Sr. in 1950 and had five children; Marshall Jr., David, Tom, Lucy and Linda. Later they divorced. She then married Willard Coleman in 1983 and moved to California. She lived there for twenty-six years. Ruth was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of her life and loved being a member of her TOPS group in Weaverville, California. After the death of her husband in 2009, she moved to Utah to live with her daughter, Lucy and son-in-law, Dennis.

Ruth took many trips with her family including going to Disneyland for the first time at the age of eighty-five. She traveled to Maui (twice), cruised to Alaska, road trips to Yellowstone, Illinois, Texas and many other places. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed them visiting and spending time with her. Ruth always remembered everyone’s birthday with a card and a $2 bill. She had many friends and loved getting letters or cards in the mail and later in life, phone calls. She was loved dearly by her family and will deeply be missed.

Ruth is survived by her sister Lucile, brother Gus, her children; Marshall Jr (Janice), David (Nancy), Tom (Sally), Lucy Boyer (Dennis) and Linda. She has 18 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Willard, sister Merle and grandchildren Duke and Jaime.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful where a viewing will be held from 12:45 – 1:45 pm. Service starts at 2 pm.
