Ray T. Anderson

May 2, 1942 — February 18, 2022

Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, and great grandpa passed away at home with his loving wife by his side on February 18, 2022.

A man among men, Ray was born May 2, 1942, in Provo, Utah to Ralph V. Anderson and Myrl Fausett. Ray grew up in Bountiful and was the youngest of four children. He attended and graduated from Bountiful High School in 1961 where he met his lifelong love, LaNette Olsen. Ray and LaNette married the same year and were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.

Ray was instilled with a strong work ethic which he exemplified his entire life. He worked in many occupations and sometimes several at one time. He was an expert automotive mechanic, worked as crew chief in the fire division with the US Forrest Service, served honorably for 47 years with the Bountiful Jeep Posse and dedicated 30 years of civil service at Hill Air Force Base. Ray also loved to serve others; he was always willing to help anyone. If you needed something moved, repaired, a tool made, or your car fixed he was there to help. We would always joke that one of his other wives were calling as he was always helping the widows in the ward.

After retiring Ray found his passion for creating things with his hands. He loved Obsidian Knapping and carving. He has become a recognized artisan for his Knives, bolo ties, arrowheads, peace pipes and saguaro walking sticks. His creations have sold for many years in the DeZion Gallery in Springdale. Ray and LaNette loved to travel in their motorhome. They had a large group of friends in Quartzite and St. George where they spent the colder months.

He is survived by his wife, LaNette, Children: Vicki Dorigatti, Kelly Anderson (Cody), April Johnson (Mark) Grandchildren: Jessamee Verbica (Mike), Zackary Dorigatti (Madison), Samantha Adiar (Colton), Elizabeth Johnson, Great Grandchildren: Henry & Lucy Verbica, Hazel & Benjamin Adair, and his sister Florence Child (Warren). Preceded in death by his parents Ralph & Myrl Anderson, his sister Dixie Hoffman, brother Vardell Anderson (Jane), son-in-law Robert Dorigatti.

A graveside service to celebrate Ray’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah.
