Patricia Ann Dalton Jacobson

Patricia Ann Dalton Jacobson, or “PJ” as she was affectionately known in her later years, died Monday, August 15, 2022, in her home. She had been lovingly cared for by her daughter, Caitlin, and her son, Aaron, for many years prior to her passing. We take great comfort in knowing she knew she was loved.

Patricia Ann Dalton was born on October 11, 1953, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Carol Blackett Dalton and Raymond Dalton. She grew up in Salt Lake City, UT, Las Vegas, NV, and eventually St. George, UT, where she graduated in 1972 from Dixie High School. She married and had 5 children: Aaron, Suzanne, David, Julia and Caitlin. PJ worked 30+ years in North Pole, Alaska and later graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in History.

Patricia valued education and was a life-long advocate for helping others achieve their dreams. Countless youth from the North Pole, Alaska area can attest to the fact that “Miss J,” helped them put their dreams into action and will be remembered for that legacy. Filling out college or trade school applications, local and national scholarships, as well as securing athletic scholarships were part of her everyday life. But what we will remember her for most is her drive to protect and root for the underdog. Her willingness to go out of her way to uplift “the one,” will be sorely missed.

Personally, Patricia’s service was above and beyond. Not only did she love her students, but she served her community throughout her life. PTSA President, North Pole Area Housing Authority board member, Relief Society President, were just a few of the ways she served her community.

She was an excellent cook with an ability to make “something out of nothing,” rarely using a recipe but always coming up with something wonderful. Her children will remember her Chicken Enchiladas, Caramel Popcorn, and Honey Mustard Halibut. We may not know exactly how to make them, but we will try in her memory.

Patricia is survived by children: Aaron Jacobson, SLC, UT, Suzanne Jacobson, Anchorage, AK, David (Megan) Jacobson, Surprise, AZ, Julia (Spencer) Stark, Tremonton, UT, and Caitlin Jacobson, SLC, UT, as well as a sister, Carolyn Dalton, SLC, UT. Nephews, Nieces, Cousins and friends as well as Grandchildren: Haidan, Annie, Irelynne and Ellie Jacobson of Surprise, AZ and Jesse, Henry, and Jack Stark of Tremonton, UT.

As per her request no funeral services will be held. Instead, we request any memories of PJ be shared to her Facebook page. She will be laid to rest during a private family ceremony in the future.
