She graduated from Caldwell High School in the class of 1952. She participated in many school activities including Class Leadership, theater, and music.

Norma was a beautiful woman, an angel on earth, caring for and helping everyone. While waiting for her future husband to finish his Church mission, she served as a Stake Missionary in Caldwell. She wrote him every day.

She married Cecil Nelson Wells on October 18, 1955, in the Saint George Temple, just three days after his release. After Cecil graduated, they moved to Simi Valley, CA where they loved raising their three children.

Norma’s home was always open to everyone. She had a great sense of humor and was a person without guile. Norma was an excellent seamstress and skilled in crocheting with a passion for reading.

In 1973 she started working for Deseret Book Company in San Fernando Valley and soon after became the first female Manager of any Deseret Book store. She worked for Deseret Book for over 18 years. After living in Simi Valley for over 30 years, they moved to Bountiful, UT.

Norma had a great love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held numerous callings including Relief Society President and many leadership and teaching positions in Stake and Ward Young Women’s organizations. After retirement, she served with her husband in the Washington D.C. Temple and later in the Bishop’s Storehouse in Kaysville, UT.

Norma is survived by her three children, son Rodney Nelson Wells (Sandy), Wenatchee, WA; son B.Y. (Bryan) Nelson Wells, Bountiful, UT; and daughter De Anne Wells Bailey (Mark), Bountiful, UT. She has nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three sisters, Muriel Blake Mauldin (Orval), Kay Lynn Blake Wakefield (Garth), and Anna Marie Blake Griffin.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Nelson Wells, her father Forest, her mother, Irene, and her brothers Larry and William (Bill) Blake.
