Nancy Jane Richards Poulton, 100, returned to her Heavenly Father on November 20, 2021. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 15, 1921. She grew up in the Highland Park Ward, attended East High School and both Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. Nancy was voted sophomore class Vice President, then in her senior year she was selected as the Dream Girl of Delta Phi. She graduated in Elementary Education with a minor in English Composition. Mom married the love of her life, John Reed Poulton, in the Salt Lake Temple on October 18, 1945.
She was a faithful and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in several callings, and faithfully supported Dad in his many callings. They had the opportunity of serving together as they presided over the New Mexico, Albuquerque Mission (1977-1980). She was loved and adored by her missionaries. Dad and Mom also served two more missions together to Israel and the Dominican Republic. In addition, she was a volunteer at the Beehive House, the Relief Society Building, the Church Office Building and then the Temple Clothing Department for 9 years.
Mom was known and will forever be remembered for her unwavering faith in her Savior, her compassion, positive outlook, beautiful smile and loving devotion to her family. She is survived by her 5 children: Rick Poulton (Carla), Marianne Tower (Mike), Janet Spilker (Clark), Don Poulton (Amy), Kathy Morgan (Bret), 23 grandchildren and 87 great grandchildren.
Special thanks to the staff at Spring Gardens Assisted Living in Holladay and Canyon Hospice for their loving, attentive and tender care.
