Meikle Dean Rapp

February 6, 1949 — June 3, 2020

Our husband, dad, grandpa, brother, son, and friend returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. He was at home at the time of his passing, surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones.

Meik was born on February 6, 1949, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He is the oldest of six children born to Bob and Iretta (Harding) Rapp. Meik attended Idaho Falls High School. He enjoyed playing football, basketball, and baseball. Baseball was his first love and he still has his original Mickey Mantel baseball glove and New York Yankees baseball cap. He developed a love for golf after baseball. He also loved cars, driving, and music.

Meik married Ginger Clement in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple, June 25, 1971. Ginger is the “love and spice” of his life. They have four children; Derek (Kelli), Meigin (Erik) Larson, Dax, and Darci (Dave) Madsen. They were blessed with eight grandchildren; Hadley, Owen, Sam, Jessie, Linzie, Jaxon, Marshall, and Ellie. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Meik was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served faithfully as a member of a Stake Presidency, Bishop, Branch Presidency, Bishopric, and other callings. He cherished the numerous relationships he developed through serving others.

Meik attended Brigham Young University and graduated from Idaho State University. Meik spent his entire career working in the grocery industry. He began as a teenager working with his dad in the Idaho Falls Saving Center grocery store. Groceries led him to Salt Lake City to work for Associated Food Stores in advertising. He loved perusing grocery ads and frequenting any and all grocery stores, even while on vacation. This became his weekly routine, visiting grocery stores in the Salt Lake City area. He would share his weekly deals with family, neighbors, and friends.

Meik was proceeded in death by his father, Bob and sister, Connie. He is survived by his wife, Ginger, his four children; Derek, Meigin, Dax, Darci and their spouses, eight grandchildren, his mother, Iretta, his siblings; Teressa, Hal, Sherri, Bruce, and their spouses.

The family is appreciative to doctors, nurses, and staff at Intermountain Health Center, all extended family, neighbors, friends, and loved ones. Cause of death: complications from cancer.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at the Bountiful City Cemetery, with the service being broadcast via Facebook Live at 12:00 noon at https://www.facebook.com/russonmortuary.
