Maxine Schulthies

d. January 20, 2004

Maxine Brown Schulthies, of Farmington, Utah, passed unexpectedly from this world to the next on January 20, 2004, while visiting her family in Phoenix. Maxine was born the first day of spring, March 21, 1918, in Farmington, Utah, to Christopher H. Brown and Sarah Stoddard Brown. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in various callings, including the Primary presidency for seven years.

Though she has left this world, Maxine?s memory remains in the hearts of her family and friends. Her journey will reunite her with her beloved husband of 46 years, Dale Howard Schulthies, who has been preparing for her arrival since 1982. They were married on September 24, 1936, in Farmington, Utah, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

Fun-loving and friendly, Maxine loved her life and living in Farmington, which was her home since childhood. Working in her yard was one of her greatest pleasures. A sports fan, Maxine cheered enthusiastically for BYU and U of U football and basketball teams. She loved listening to beautiful music and was an accomplished piano player. However it was her family that was her pride and joy.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Schulthies Gleave Steve and Daline Schulthies Hilton Lynn, both of Phoenix, Arizona; a son, Val Schulthies Sue of St. George, Utah; and a sister, Fae Fife of Ogden, Utah. She also has 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and many loving friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Farmington 13th Ward Chapel, 347 South 200 West. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Saturday morning from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will follow at the Farmington City Cemetery, where Maxine and Dale with be together once again, forever. Please join the family in celebrating Maxine?s life.
