Mason Garth Green

June 26, 2015 — November 29, 2021

Our sweet angel boy, Mason Garth Green (6 years old), passed away quickly on November 29, 2021 at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Mason has always been one in a billion, even from an early age. Mason was born in Cleveland, Ohio, with a rare genetic disorder. At the time of his diagnosis, Mason was only the 7th known case in the USA with the SPTAN1 gene mutation. This genetic disorder had symptoms similar to cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Shortly before Mason’s first birthday, his family moved to Seattle, WA where Mason lived the remaining 5 ½ years of his life. Much of Mason’s life was filled with doctors’ appointments and therapy sessions, where Mason and his care providers built special bonds. Mason was always so patient, kind, content, and loving. Every person who met Mason felt an instant connection and love towards him. Mason loved reading books with his family, playing with toys that made loud noises, and watching Baby Einstein. Mason loved attending preschool at Sorenson Early Education Center, and then Kindergarten and 1st grade at Ruby Bridges Elementary. His teachers, specialists, and 1:1 support team were amazing and we know Mason loved them. Mason also loved reading books and laughing with his older sisters Carly and Holland, watching shows with his baby brother James, playing baseball with and being thrown in the air by his dad Casey, and snuggling with his mom Lindsey. We will forever miss our little angel boy, but feel so lucky that he’s able to run in heaven now and watch over us.

Mason is survived by his parents Casey and Lindsey Green; siblings Carly (13), Holland (10), and James (1); Grandparents Bryant and Kathie Hatch, and Rodney and Cathy Green; Great grandmother Estelle Ward; and loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church building, 1456 East 320 North, Provo, Utah, where a viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
