Mark Louis Gleydura

June 9, 1947 — March 28, 2022

Mark Louis Gleydura was born in Trenton New Jersey on June 9th, 1947 to Bertha Gleydura-Isman.  After battling with dementia and Parkinson’s for many years, Mark passed away at the Legacy House of Park Lane nursing home on March 28, 2022.

Mark is survived by his wife Greta of 46 years, son Michael Gleydura, daughter Jennifer Bollenbacher, grandchildren Joshua and Christopher, and a loving aunt Margie Abel.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.

He served in the Air Force for 27 years and his travels took him to many places including Vietnam, Germany and the United Kingdom where he met his wife.  He retired from the Air Force in 1991 and settled down in Washington state.  He then began a new career with the Postal service, until he became ill.

Orting, Washington was home to Mark and Greta for many years.  Mark loved being able to see Mount Rainier every day.  He referred to it as “his mountain”.  He was an active member of the Orting United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed participating in bible study, singing in the choir and helping the children ring the church bells.

Family was always a priority to Mark.  He had many adventures with his wife and children visiting many national parks across the country.  He made many trips to the United Kingdom to visit his wife’s family, which he embraced as his own.

A memorial service will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent Washington on April 18th at 2:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to help research/fight Alzheimer’s and dementia.
