Margaret Ruth Sutton Nelson

May 31, 1931 — January 17, 2022

Margaret was born in Idaho falls in 1931 to Thomas and Jennie Sutton. She married the love of her life, Dallas Nelson, in 1954 where they then were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. They had three children – Jena lee, Joni, and Alan.

Margaret’s life was full of service. She was a teacher for many years at South Davis junior high and volunteered at Lakeview hospital for many years. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the Joseph Smith building for many years. She actually extended her mission twice because she loved it so so much. If you knew Margaret she would go out of her way to serve those around her.

She was known as the lollipop lady. Every Sunday she made sure she had a whole bunch of dum- dum suckers and all of the kids would come to her to say hello and she would give them a sucker. She loved to be involved in the kids lives in any way possible. One of her greatest passions was cooking. She loved to invite others over or cook for others in need. She was a fantastic lady that will be missed. God be with you until we meet again.
