Marcia Ballard Darnell

February 28, 1941 — August 29, 2021

Marcia Ballard Darnell returned to her Heavenly Father on August 29, 2021.  She was born February 28, 1941, in Salt Lake City to Duane Orson Ballard and Ione Davis Ballard.  She grew up in the Slat Lake area by Liberty Park and graduated from East High School.  She married Richard Chenoweth Darnell and they were later sealed in the Slat Lake Temple.  They had 8 children and later divorced.  Marcia is preceded in death by her parents Duane and Ione; her sister, Ramona Dalton; brother-in-law, Calvin Dalton; sister-in-law, Geri Ballard; and her granddaughter, Kristina Darnell.

Marcia is lovingly remembered by her children Brandy Farnsworth, Craig Darnell (Jami), Diane Thomas (Doug), Karen Woodard (Bryce), Kevin Darnell (Melissa), Susan Turner, Jennifer Darnell, and Jamie Lee (Darryn). She leaves behind 28 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, her brother Davis Ballard (Deon) and many nieces and nephews.

Marcia was a loving mother, grandmother, and caretaker who left behind many fond memories.  She loved being able to spend time with her family.  Marcia was always eager to put her kids above herself.  She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings throughout her life.  She had many jobs, but the ones she enjoyed most were working as a lunch lady, CNA, and most recently, a crossing guard in Davis County.  She loved her dog, Buddy, who loved and protected her.  She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday September 7 from 11:30-12:30 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary in Farmington, Utah.  Following the viewing, there will be a graveside service at the Farmington City Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
