Born March 4, 1921 in Farmington, Utah, to Edwin Earl Moon and Alfhild Henriksen Moon Steed Moulton. Married to his high school sweetheart Iris V. Hepworth on June 19, 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. He attended elementary school in Farmington and graduated from Davis High School. He also attended classes at the U of U. Served in World War II in the Philippines and Japan. His career was in the banking industry at First Security Bank; retired from Utah Bank and Trust as Vice President in 1986. He was active in the theater in the Salt Lake Theatre Group and acted and directed in plays at the U of U. He directed many successful road shows, plays and ward productions. In a stake production of The Sound of Music, he marveled as Baron Von Trapp. He studied art at Davis High School, the U of U and finally under the tutelage of Goff Dowding. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren are carrying on his love of art, and his beautiful paintings adorn the homes of many friends and family. He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He taught Gospel Doctrine for many years, directed music in Sunday School and in Sacrament meetings, sang in the choir, served in the bishopric, was High Priest group leader, and fulfilled many other callings. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Iris, daughter Sharon Reed Bangerter, brother Glen L. Gerry Moon, 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Proceeded in death by his daughter Lynette, son Earl and great-grandson Joshua. Funeral services will be held at the Bountiful 13th Ward, 1365 North 650 East, on Thursday, December 27th at 11:00 a.m. Friends may pay their respects at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, on Wednesday, December 26th between 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., or prior to the services at the 13th Ward Chapel between 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment – Lakeview Memorial Estate.
