LaVern Aston Bowers

d. January 13, 2008

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother LaVerne Emily Aston Bowers peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, January 13, 2008 of natural causes. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was born December 31, 1917, to Alfred Elias Aston and Iona Eliza Park Aston. She grew up in Magna, Utah and married Harold Marsh Bowers on April 4, 1940. She was a highly valued employee for Mountain Bell Telephone Company for many years. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sealed to her husband and children for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Mom raised 4 children who adored her all her life. Our annual family vacations always included visiting national landmarks, traveling down unfamiliar roads and a souvenir rock almost too heavy for Dad to wrestle into the floor of the family trailer. Among her many talents was her skill as an artist. Majestic mountains, alpine lakes and ocean coastlines inspired many of her paintings. Mom was a friend to everyone who knew her and never hesitated to help those in need. She is survived in death by her husband of 67 years; her four children, Carol Chuck Zacher, Susan Parkin, Barry Penny Bowers, and Lisa Willden; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, January 18, 2008 at the Bountiful 39th Ward LDS Chapel, 1500 South 600 East. Friends and family may call Thursday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Friday morning from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Lakeview Cemetery.
