Kevin Herbert Hillier

October 25, 1952 — February 4, 2022

Kevin Hillier, 69, of Centerville, Utah passed away on February 4, 2022, after a valiant fight with chronic illness. He was born in Ogden, Utah on October 25, 1952 to Herbert Miles Hillier and Merrilynn Godfrey Hillier. He attended area schools and graduated from Bonneville High School. During his time at Bonneville, he was known for his expert percussion skills; winning many awards for playing the snare drum and marimba.

On September 12, 1974 he married his best friend, Karen Krambule. They were always on the go doing the things they liked most which included skiing, golfing and fishing. They jokingly said the only reason they had a house was to change clothes for the next activity.

Kevin worked at Rossignol Ski Company for 42 years. During that time, he made contacts throughout the entire United States and enjoyed interacting with each of them. He retired in 2016.

He enjoyed hunting with friends throughout Utah and Wyoming.  As a young boy he spent many hours in Clarkston, Utah at his beloved Grandma and Grandpa’s house. He recounted fond memories spending time with family and roaming the hills with Cousin Kirk and Uncle Ralph.

His father taught him to golf at an early age. He was known for his smooth swing and calm demeanor.  He played at many courses in northern Utah but his favorite was Patio Springs which later became Wolf Creek CC.

He enjoyed fly fishing with Karen on many rivers in Montana and Wyoming. He especially liked fishing with his brother-in-law Randy on the Snake River.

In 1990, his son Ryan Allen was born. Ryan immediately became the light of his life, his Little Buddy forever.  They enjoyed many activities together. Favorites were camping, scouting and discussing music.

His major passion was skiing. He carved down many slopes in the Rocky Mountains. He helicopter skied multiple times with friends and associates but really cherished the time he went heli skiing with Ryan and Karen in the Ruby Mountains of Nevada.

Kevin will forever be known for his kind and gentle nature. He was friendly and made time for each person he met, described by many to be the Salt of the Earth.

He touched many lives and will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He will remain in our hearts forever.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother Brett.

He is survived by his wife and loving son.
