Kathie Goff Gomez

January 13, 1947 — April 14, 2022

Kathie Goff Gomez was born on January 13th, 1947 to Steve and Faye Goff. She passed away on April 14th, 2022 at University of Utah hospital in Salt Lake City due to complications from cancer. She married her husband and love of her life Ascension Gomez in 1978. She was proceeded in death by her husband Ascension, grandparents Elizabeth and Gordon Pace, her father Steve Durant Goff and her mother Faye Pace Shackelford, and her nephew Andrew Goff. As a child she was a tap dancer, ballet dancer, played the piano, and had the most beautiful singing voice. She also loved to ice skate. In the wintertime her parents would transform the backyard into an ice-skating rink, and you couldn’t keep her off the ice. When she was 14 she worked at her grandparents’ restaurant: the Dairy Queen. After it was sold her grandparents started the restaurant Paces Dairy Anne. Kathie worked there until she was 19. She later went on to become a waitress where she was loved by all that she would come into contact with. Kathie loved to be outside, loved the mountains, and loved working outside in her yard with flowers in her garden. She loved animals more than anyone you could ever meet. Her favorite was her kitties and she would help any animal she would come across that needed help. You would often find her picking up snails to tell them they had the cutest little faces. She would feed all the hornets and bees with cat food. You would never meet anyone that had a bigger heart and the kindest soul. She always was very giving to everyone she knew including the animal world. Kathie was one of the strongest people you would ever meet. She was the oldest of 5 children and always wanted to take care of her siblings. All the way to the end she worried for the wellbeing of her family. She would ride her bike all over town up until about 15 years ago when the pain in her back became overwhelming and it became harder for her to do much of anything. Kathie was loved by all who knew her. Kathie’s favorite times were with her family and friends. She was adored by her nieces and nephews and she treated them like her children. She was survived by her 9 sisters and 1 brother. Larrie Goff brother, sisters Sharon, Darlene, Melanie, Tammy, Karla, Heidi, Nicole, and Valorie. Kathie will be greatly missed by all who knew her and by her fur baby family.
