Joyce Ann Larson Williams

March 1, 1936 — April 10, 2021

“Nothing loved is ever lost.  It returns again and again in sweet memories.” Joyce Ann Williams, loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter and sister, passed away April 10, 2021, surrounded by her family at her home in North Salt Lake after a short, but valiant, battle with bile duct cancer.

Joyce was born in Richfield, Utah on March 1, 1936 to Grant and Fern Washburn Larson.  She graduated from Richfield High School in 1954 and ventured off to Logan, Utah to attend Utah State University. This is where she met her sweetheart Bob.   They dated for a short time and then he went into the Army for two years.  Although they did not keep in touch, they were reunited while Joyce was crossing the street and Bob drove by her in Salt Lake after he returned home.  They were truly meant to be.   She married Robert Clark Williams on February 27, 1959.    They recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary.  They made their home in Bountiful, Utah where they raised four daughters.

Bob and Joyce started Petroleum Equipment Company in 1980 and worked side by side for over 25 years to build their successful business.  They treated everyone like family in the business.  Family was everything to Joyce. She made each daughter, son-in-law, grandchild, and great- grandchild feel like they were the most important part of her life.  She was an example of doing great things to keep her family united and she supported and encouraged each grandchild–whether it was going to ball games, graduations, recitals, helping to plan fun trips, shopping to have the best dressed great grandchildren for every holiday or to make family gatherings a special tradition.   She loved to travel, golf, and shop for everyone.  She lived a life full of grace, beauty, Christlike charity, gratitude, optimism, kindness, and was so classy.   She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved ministering to her friends and neighbors and showed compassion to everyone she came in contact with.  Service and gift giving to others brought her much joy.

Survived by her husband and best friend of 62 years Bob, four wonderful daughters, Cindy (David) Cook, Terry Francom, Susan (Don) Peay, Shelly (Landon) Lewis, 23 grandchildren, 14 ½ great- grandchildren, and brother Craig (Jane) Larson.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Fern Larson, and her brothers Ronald and Laird.   The family expresses their gratitude for the doctors, nurses and care given to her by IMC Hospital and Huntsman at Home Care.

Friends and loved ones are invited to remember and celebrate Joyce’s life at a funeral service on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at her LDS Chapel located at 200 South Eagle Ridge Drive, NSL, Utah.   A viewing will be held at the same location from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m.   Due to Covid, we ask that you please wear a mask and social distance.  Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery.  The service will be live streamed on Facebook through Russon Mortuary and via Zoom.  Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.  Memorial donations may be made to Primary Children’s Hospital which has been a big part of helping some family members.
