Jolin Jones Miller

1955 ~ 2022

Jolin Jones Miller, 67, passed away on June 18, 2022 after a long and debilitating fight with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born on February 18, 1955 to Kenneth Warren Jones and Mary Delores Linsley Jones. She grew up in Ogden and enjoyed living near a ski resort. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1973 and later attended Weber State where she met Rickie Lawrence Miller. They were sealed in January of 1975 in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Jolin had a great love for sports and was always active doing something. She loved skiing in her younger years and played soccer and golf as she grew older. She coached hundreds of kids in soccer and was involved in youth soccer in all forms for many years. She played a key role in making girls soccer what it is today in the Kaysville area. She enjoyed golfing with friends and participated in a league at Davis Park. Her favorite activity was playing golf with Rick as they traveled, and they always tried to stay near a local course.

Jolin worked a few different jobs over the years. She enjoyed the challenge and the opportunity, but she always considered her role as a wife, mother and grandmother as her most important work. She was always working to improve herself and help others. She enjoyed participating in the lives of her children and grandchildren as often as possible and tried to attend all the games, competitions, lessons, recitals and performances that she could. She and Rick often traveled great distances to other states or countries to be there for their children and grandchildren.

Jolin was the definition of self-reliant and independent. She enjoyed reading books and studying, putting puzzles together, playing board games, cross stitching, sewing and learning how to do new things. She was always trying new recipes, learning new skills or using existing skills to do something for someone. She was a great example of hard work and determination. Over the years she made countless items to donate to those in need.

Service was a big part of her life and she was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. During her life she served in many different positions and those she loved the most involved her being able to teach and develop close relationships with those she served. She had a great group of young women that she always spoke fondly of and her favorite calling was serving as a senior primary teacher. She served as a Senior Missionary in the Ogden, Utah mission with her husband Rick. They also worked at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and served as temple workers in the Ogden Temple.

Jolin is survived by her children; Ryan (Nacole), Melanie (Kelly), Braden (Amy), Karissa (Justin), 11 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, and her brothers Randy (Cathie) and Mitch (Grimalde). She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Rick.
