John J. David

February 23, 1931 — October 31, 2021

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed from this earth on Sunday, October 31st, 2021.

John was born February 23rd, 1931 in Youngstown, Ohio to Richard Morgan and Hannah Maria David. He was the youngest of three children. As a young child, he and his family moved to Abergavenny, Wales where he was raised. In 1952, John returned to America where he settled in Ohio.

He met and married Alvina Bendig. They had three daughters. He began his active Army career during this time, later transitioning to the Army Reserves. While in the Army he was a member of the 127 ABN (Airborne) Engineers Battalion, Company D as well as the 82nd Airborne Division. While serving, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Parachutist Badge. He received an Honorable Discharge after years of service. As life progressed, he and Alvina chose to pursue different paths.

He was an active member of many Masonic Orders, where he met and married his wife, Patricia Bahrt. They were happily involved in many Masonic organizations where he served as Worshipful Master four times and Presiding Officer of five other bodies.

He was actively involved with The Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, for many decades.

John is survived by his wife, Patricia, his children, Susan and Michael Call, Sharon Anderson, Sandra and Bruce Ashby, 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 3 nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 13th in the Woods Cross 11th Ward located at 1335 West 1500 South, Woods Cross, Utah. A viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.

Interment will follow at the Bountiful Cemetery.
