Jay Lee Robison

Jay Lee Robison of Bountiful Utah passed away May 9th, 2022 at Legacy House of Farmington.
Jay was born February 28, 1932 in Emmett, Idaho to Jay Passey Robison and Grace Lerwill. He was raised in Emmett and graduated from Emmett High School in 1951. Soon after graduation he was drafted into the US Army in August of 1951 during the Korean War.
Jay attended basic training in Augusta Georgia and was trained to be a radio repairman at Fort Monmouth in New Jersey. After receiving his training, he was assigned to Fort MacArthur in California. His task was installing defensive gun installations and radar warning systems throughout Los Angles California. He was honorably discharged in 1953.
While stationed in New Jersey Jay and some friends went into New York City to attend a Saturday night play. On Sunday morning Jay went to church and there met Ramona Hall who was vacationing with her family. Jay and Ramona courted though letters and long distance phone calls until they were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on August 14, 1953.
Jay graduated from the University of Idaho in 1957 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He later started his career with the US Government in the Civil Service Missel Defense Program and became a lead Engineer specializing in missile guidance. His work covered the Sidewinder, Sergeant and Minuteman Missile Systems. Upon his retirement he then became a lead Engineer at Boeing Aerospace.
After retiring from Boeing, he and Ramona spent many years wintering in Yuma Arizona where he enjoyed spending time with his wife and enjoying his love for golf.
As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he fulfilled many callings through his life.
He is survived by Marie (Carlton) Doyle of Layton, Utah, Cozette (Bart) Dodds of Layton, Utah and Thad (Jennifer) Robison of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his wife Ramona, his daughter Anita Robison and his grandson Ian King.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery in Rigby, Idaho. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
