Jaxon McIlrath

January 5, 2018 — August 1, 2021

We are heartbroken. Our sweet Jaxon returned home to his Heavenly Father after a valiant fight with a brain tumor.

Jaxon was born on January 5th, 2018 to Chelsee McIlrath and Justin Adam Carter.

Jaxon was a friend to everyone he met and he brightened the lives of those around him, he was a happy little soul. Jaxon loved to go out and wave to the garbage man each week and would run to the door every time he heard him coming. He loved cars and trucks, construction vehicles-especially excavators, emergency vehicles and of course, garbage trucks.

He loved reading books about everything and was the smartest little boy. He always pointed out stop signs and say, “Look! An octagon!” He was wise beyond his years and never ceased to amaze his parents and family. He loved to be a “helper” around the house, helping Grandma clean, helping Grandpa “do work”, or anyone else with whatever they were doing.

Jaxon loved to shoot baskets on his small hoop or play ball of any kind. He loved to tease and had a very quick wit that kept everyone on their toes. He loved to play “chase”, and hockey, and with his hot wheel cars, and he always managed to have someone down on the floor playing with him.

He was such a polite little guy, he even thanked the Dr’s and nurses every time they came into his room. (Even if it was to poke him) He commanded every room he entered, and he ruled the house- and the little stinker knew it. He was always so vibrant and happy, making everyone laugh and smile. He had an infectious laugh that he shared often. He enjoyed spending time with his sister, Hailey and his brother, Hunter.

To say he will be missed is an immense understatement, there is a hole in our hearts and our lives without him. We love you so much Bubba, and we miss you.

Jaxon is survived by his parents Chelsee McIlrath and Justin Adam Carter, siblings Hailey Carter, Hunter Carter and Lexy Varner, Grandparents Brian and Bonnie McIlrath and Maxine Carter, Aunts and Uncles Blake McIlrath, Jeffrey(Savannah) McIlrath, Nic McIlrath, Tammy(Ryan) Kennedy, Brian(Cindy) Kearny and numerous cousins.

The family would like to thank the healthcare workers from Primary children’s hospital and Huntsman Cancer Institute, and CNS home health for aiding in his battle with cancer.

A celebration of his life will be held August 11th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Maple Way Ward, 380 South Fairfield Rd., Layton, UT.  Family and friends may call Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Russon Farmington Mortuary, 1941 N. Main St., Farmington, and Wednesday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
