Janice LaRene Thompson Williamson

July 7, 1942 — May 15, 2021

Janice LaRene Thompson Williamson, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on May 15, 2021, at the age of 78, after fighting a courageous four month battle of metastatic breast cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 7th 1942 to Melvin Nels and Viola Mary Christensen Thompson. Her early childhood was spent growing up on their farm in West Jordan on the old pole line road. Even as a child she was fiercely independent. At 3 years old she wandered away and fell into a canal on their Grandpa Christensen‘s farm nearby and thankfully her 9 year old brother found her and pulled her out. Her parents later sold the farm and bought a house in Midvale. She graduated from Jordan High School. She also attended Salt Lake Community College. During high school she met and fell in love with a dashing young man, Frank Jay Brown. They were married July 17th 1961. Shortly two beautiful little girls, Lori and Stacie, joined the family. Then tragedy struck and Jay was killed in an auto accident April 9th, 1964. She found love again and married Richard (Rico) Jesus Archuleta September 15th 1966. Two more beautiful children joined the family, Rico Jr and Angie. She and Rico later divorced. She married Frank Utley June 26th 1984, later divorced. She then married Ronald Asa Williamson on December 31st 1989. When Ron suffered a stroke she lovingly nursed him for many years until his death January 1st 2016. She adores her family and had an especially close relationship with her sister Rosemary. They were like two peas in a pod. Always doing things together. She enjoyed crocheting, doing puzzles, camping, golfing, bowling, and going on trips especially to Lava Hot Springs, enjoying the sights through many states where she was a truck driver with her husband Ron for 8 to 10 years. She had worked as a waitress, and also served as a lunch lady in Davis County for a few years. Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Viola Thompson, one brother Lamar, and two sisters Kathleen, and Rosemary (Richard) Kelly, and, all of her husbands. She is survived by her four children, Lori Brown Kerr, Stacie Brown (Don) Gansen, Richard Archuleta Jr., and Angela Banford.
