Janet Kay Robinson

July 31, 1953 — March 28, 2021

Janet Kay Robinson, 67, of Pocatello, ID passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. She died peacefully with her daughters by her side.

Janet was born in Omaha, Nebraska on July 31, 1953 to Edwin and Annice Frovick. She was the youngest of three daughters. In 1967, her family moved to Pocatello for her dad’s work. Janet attended Alameda Junior High and Highland High School where she was active in drama, choir and French club. She graduated from Highland in 1971. She attended Idaho State University and the Vo-Tech Office Occupations program. She had a job offer at The Site before even completing the program. She married Mark Robinson on February 13, 1976. Janet worked at The Site until the summer of 1982, a couple months before her oldest daughter, Abby, was born. Janet returned to work at Century 21 in late 1983 and worked there until 1985. Her second daughter, Kimberly, was born in 1986. Janet returned to work part-time from home doing property management and medical billing until 1999 when she started working at Citizen’s Community Bank as a Construction Loan Processor. She retired in January 2020.

In her early adulthood, Janet enjoyed ceramics, foosball, bowling and pinochle, which she continued playing all her life. Janet enjoyed her time as an aunt and loved being present for all family events. She was very witty and had a great sense of humor with a tendency to be a little on the dark side. She liked to talk and was an entertaining storyteller. Janet was a wonderful friend. She showed her love through action and was generous in all ways, especially with her time. Janet was a committed mother. She never missed an extra-curricular event her daughters participated in. She enjoyed spoiling her granddaughters and was happy to accommodate their every desire.

Janet is survived by her mother, Annice, of Pocatello; daughter, Abby (Steven), of Camas, Washington; daughter, Kim, of Pocatello; sister, Jane, of Omaha, Nebraska; granddaughters, Avri, Paisley, and Clarke; 12 nieces and nephews, and 21 great nieces and nephews. Janet is preceded in death by her father, Edwin; sister, Jerri; and niece, Amanda.

A funeral service will be held on April 6, 2021 at Central Christian Church, 918 E. Center Street-Pocatello at 1 pm. Anyone who wishes to attend is welcome. Masks are required.
