Homer T. Stewart H. T. ‘High Tension’

Our Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Homer T. Stewart passed away March 20, 2005 at his home. He was born May 11, 1915 to Minnie L. Clark and Homer Tilden Stewart Sr.. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Helen Fox, brother Bill Stewart and infant son William Wells Stewart.

Homer is survived by his wife of 66 years, Laura M. Wells Stewart, his 3 daughters and their spouses, Kay and Peter Prier, Laura and Jay Monk and Sue and Gregory Capson, their 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was married to Laura M. Wells Dec. 8, 1938 in Price Utah. He was baptized into the LDS church in 1968 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1970. He served faithfully in many church callings.

He earned an associate degree from Westminster College, and a bachelors and masters degree from the University of Utah. He was employed by the State of Utah as a social worker for 34 years. He served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1945 during World War II.

He sang with the Swanee Singer Male Chorus for 66 years. He loved music, literature, art, dancing, travel, his rose garden and most of all his family.

Funeral Services will be held at the Imperial Ward, 1560 East Atkin Ave. 2825 So. on Friday March 25, at 1:00 p.m., Friends may call prior to services from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m. Entombment will follow in the Salt Lake Mausoleum, 1001 East 11th Ave. Services under the direction of Russon Brothers Salt Lake Mortuary.
