Henny Bakker

February 18, 1949 — February 27, 2020

Henny Bakker was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands on February 18, 1949.  He came with his family to the US in 1951. After a hard battle with Leukemia, he passed away peacefully with family by his side on February 27, 2020 in SLC Utah.  Henny graduated from Granite High School in 1967. He was in the Sheet Metal Union, Local 312, for 51 years. After retirement he helped his son, Dekon, start a company doing what they loved together. Henny loved building memories with friends and family going boating, to the sand dunes, camping, racing, and building cars. Henny followed the drag racing circuit in his early 20’s.  He was very mechanically inclined. Henny enjoyed spending time spoiling his dogs. He was a very strong man in every way and will surely be missed by many.

Henny was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Antonia, brother, Wilford, sister, Kim (Scott).  He will be lovingly missed by the love of his life of 45 years, Marcy, son, Dekon (Ayron), grandkids Kylee, Wyatt and Phoebe, Tante Wilma, cousin, Donita (John), dog Dart and many nieces, nephews, sisters / brothers in law, and cousins.
