Helen Schoenfeld

d. March 17, 2007

Helen Hogge Schoenfeld passed away March 17, 2007 from age-related causes. Family and friends will miss her kind and loving nature, generosity and independent spirit. Born February 13, 1921 in Morgan, Utah to Charles William Hogge and Mary Ellen Vincent, Helen grew up in Salt Lake City in a loving family of 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She graduated from South High School and married her sweetheart, Keith W. Schoenfeld, on August 14, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple. After Keith returned from service during World War II, Helen began her long career as a bookkeeper, secretary and office manager. Their only son, Lynn, was born in 1947. Helen was a proud and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who taught her family gospel principles through example. Her many years of church service were concentrated with the children of Junior Sunday School, Primary and Young Women, whom she loved and treated as special gifts from God. During retirement, Helen continued to serve children as a volunteer for over 14 years at Primary Children?s Medical Center. Helen was a loving caregiver for Keith as he battled cancer until his death in 2002, after 60 wonderful years together. Helen?s happiest memories were times spent with family, especially with grandchildren, enjoying their special celebrations and life milestones, but taking great pleasure from just being together. Helen is loved and missed by those she leaves behind, including son, Lynn, and daughter-in-law, Linda; grandchildren Marissa Hatch Darrin, Catherine McKasson Mark, Steven Schoenfeld Lindsay and Susan Stewart Seth; six great grandchildren; sister, Mary Blackhurst, and brother, Jesse Hogge Phyllis; many nephews and nieces; and some very kind and special neighbors and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Keith, brothers Nephi, Vince and Robert, and sister, Myrtle. A funeral celebration of Helen?s life will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at Bountiful 7th Ward Chapel, 1250 South Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, where friends may call from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment ? Bountiful City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be sent to Primary Children?s Medical Center. Friends may also call at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Friday evening, March 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
