Glenda Hedwig Mysing Gunnell

May 2, 1937 — June 22, 2022

A beautiful child, daughter, Glendy, granddaughter, friend, mother, (or Babe as her husband affectionately called her), mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, Granny G, Babushka, Great-Grandmother, and disciple of Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2022, in her new home with her loving husband at Creekside Assisted Living, Bountiful, Utah.

Glenda Hedwig Mysing Gunnell was born May 2, 1937, in San Francisco, California. She was the only child of Hedwig Minna Jabbs and William Mysing. She married Carrol Lee Gunnell in the Salt Lake Temple on June 11, 1954…..for time and all eternity.

They were blessed with six beautiful children, Elaine, David, Maryjean, Jacalyn, Carrie, and Glen. Raising her family was her favorite joy. – “Family – LOVE like no other” was her saying and way of life. They lived in the Salt Lake Area for 13 years. In 1967, they moved to North Salt Lake, where they lived in the same home for 55 years.

Glenda loved to travel with her husband. Together they journeyed across the world on numerous cruises and land vacations. Glenda was fond of reading. She was a member of a woman’s book club for 40 years. They met each month to talk about that month’s book and developed lovely lifelong friendships.

She loved the flowers in her garden and her favorite were roses. Glenda was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She held and served faithfully in many church callings throughout her life. She loved attending the Temple with her husband. Later in their retirement years, they chose to serve two missions, one to Nigeria and later to Russia.

Glenda leaves behind her loving “Hunk” and “Eternal Companion”, Carrol, and six wonderful children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who she loved to be with, Elaine Page (Mark), David Lee Gunnell (Tami), Maryjean Bosen (Bill), Jacalyn Van Vliet (Jeff), Carrie Perry (Lyle), William Glen Gunnell (Emily), 20 Grandchildren, and 33 Great-Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by both her parents and son-in-law Lyle Perry.
