Beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt. Grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Gladys Ruth Miller Barlow, age 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2006 in Bountiful, UT. She was born November 15, 1916 in Salt Lake City, UT, to Carl Axel Miller and Clara Rebecca Williams Miller. She grew up on the avenues of Salt Lake City attending Wasatch Elementary, Bryant Junior High, East High class of ?35 and Steven-Henager Business College. During her Junior High years she met Wilford, the love of her life and married him six years later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 1, 1937. Gladys and Wilford lived in Salt Lake City on N street in the 27th Ward for the first nineteen years of their marriage. In 1956 they moved to Bountiful, UT., where they raised their three boys in the Val Verda area. Her loved of music and extraordinary talent to play by ear was a great joy to all that would hear her play the organ and piano. Friends and family members would never end a visit to her home without requesting she play for them. She shared her great musical talents in various church capacities including MIA teacher, Primary organist and counselor in the Relief Society Presidency. Gladys was a very loving mother and grandmother who adored children. She had a very gentle manor and would share her positive ?everything will work out? advice to those that came to her for counsel. She was without guile. Her home was always open to friends and visitors who enjoyed her hospitality. She is survived by her loving husband and eternal companion, Wilford Barlow of 68 years; three sons, Larry Carol, Heber, UT; Dennis Pat, North Ogden, UT; Rick Judy, Bountiful, UT; 12 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and brother Richard Betty Miller, Beaver Dam, NV. She was preceded in death by her infant son Keith, sister, Margaret, brothers, Dean, Carl, Wayne, Jack and Leon Miller; and daughter-in-law, Lynne Barlow. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Canyon 2nd Ward, 3350 South 100 East, Bountiful, UT. Friends and family may call Friday evening, January 6, 2006 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Saturday morning from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
