Geraldine “Gerri” Whitworth Johnson Snarr-Hallock

September 10, 1937 — April 19, 2022

Our beloved Geraldine “Gerri” Whitworth Johnson Snarr Hallock left us to be in the arms of our Savior and her dear husband, James Snarr, on April 19, 2022. Gerri was born on September 10, 1937, in Bingham, Utah. Her parents are the late William Johnson and Nora Whitworth. Her lineage was through the Whitworth-Kelly pioneer stock who helped settle the Chesterfield area of southern Idaho.

Gerri grew up in Bancroft, Idaho, but lived in Idaho Falls during her teenage years, graduating from Idaho Falls High School in 1956. While a Tiger at Idaho Falls High, she met the love of her life, Merland James “Jim” Snarr, who she married after his return from a mission to the British Isles. Gerri loved serving and became a nurse and worked in that capacity for almost three decades. Jim was a brilliant teacher, and passed away August 27, 2006. Of their union in the Idaho Falls Temple, four sons were born: Scott, Mike, Todd, and Chris. Scottie passed away in his thirties, and the other sons and their wives reside in Utah: Mike and Katherine; Todd and Andrea,; and Chris and Amber. Jules Snarr is also a treasured daughter-in-law. Her greatly loved grandchildren by age are Olivia (T.J.), Gabee, John (Sarah), Jaron, Izee, and Ari.

In 2014, Gerri married Dale Hallock for time in the Bountiful Temple. Dale was a widower from Gilbert, Arizona, a long-time friend, and they had seven-and-half glorious years together. All who knew Gerri saw her kindness and desire to serve others.

Viewings will be held at the Park Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 1125 North 400 West, Centerville, Utah, on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday April 26, 2022 from 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m.
