Geraldine Bowen

June 1, 1934 — February 13, 2021

Geraldine Bowen was born on June 1, 1934. She passed away on February 13, 2021 after along illness and shortly after suffering a fractured hip from a fall. Geraldine was a long term resident of Bountiful, Utah. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she loved her ward. As a young adult she served a mission in Tennessee. She served in several callings in the church including stake historian, stake Relief Society presidency and the ward organist. She was a talented organist and in addition to playing in her ward, she played the organ in the Bountiful Temple for many years. She also served as an ordinance worker in the temple. She was very successful in her career in the human resources field. She worked for several organizations including Sperry Corporation and NASA. After her retirement she dedicated many years in providing care for aging, loved family members. She took her grandfather, Ramond Bowen, into her home and cared for him for several years until he passed away. She also provided a home and care for her parents, Arlan Seamons and Izola Bowen Seamons, when their health declined. Geraldine never married. She loved her extended family of aunts and uncles and many cousins. She loved books and spent alot of time collecting books. She had an extensive library in her home that she shared with family and friends. Geraldine’s health declined over the last two years of her life. She was a resident of Heritage Place during this time. The family would like to express gratitude for the staff of Heritage Place, to doctors and nurses who provided care for her. We are also grateful for her neighbors and members of the community who were so kind and supportive of her. Geraldine will be missed. A graveside service will be held on February 20th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bountiful Cemetery to celebrate Geraldine’s life.
