George Edward Benedict

July 25, 1955 — March 6, 2022

George Edward Benedict, born on July 25th, 1955 in Salt Lake City passed away peacefully in his sleep and was reunited with his sweet wife Julie on March 6th, 2022 at his home in Farmington, Utah.
George was the youngest and only boy of three kids born to George Call Benedict and Marian Meyers Benedict. He lived his entire childhood in Bountiful, Utah where he attended Viewmont High School and was in the Madrigals choir. He later earned his accounting degree from the University of Utah and spent his career working in this field.
He successfully served an LDS mission in the Buenos Aires, Argentina mission and remained active in his faith throughout his life. Shortly after returning from his mission he met Julie Tuttle at a young single adult event. Their first date was nearly their last as he took her to see a new movie called “Star Wars”. Luckily, they continued to date and were later married and sealed in the Salt Lake City temple on June 22nd, 1978.
George and Julie raised their family in Farmington, Utah and were richly blessed with the life-time relationships that they created while living there. George was a very active husband, dad and grandpa as his top priorities were Julie, his boys, daughter in-laws and grandkids. He was a ‘master of all’ as he could seemingly take on any task handed to him and execute it with perfection, whether it was a math problem, woodworking issue, gospel question or life advice, he always knew exactly what to do and what to say. He also had a strong tenor voice and was in many choirs and ensembles throughout his life.
He was an excellent example of what a true disciple should be as he was always willing to serve his family and friends in any way that he could, often putting their needs before his own. If you were ever in the mood for a quick laugh, he always had a joke ready at any moment. He truly was a remarkable person with the largest heart and he will be greatly missed by all those that loved him.
George leaves behind his sons Brad (Brittany) and TJ (Cami), his 4 grandkids Blake, Beckett, William and Ruth, sister JoAnn Brierley (Kent) and many nephews, nieces, family and friends. Those that preceded George in death are his parents, sister Sally and his beloved wife, our beautiful mother, Julie.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 12th at the Beehive Chapel, 1395 S. 200 E. Farmington, UT. Friends and family are welcome to visit before the services at 9:30 am at the church. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.

Services will be streamed live on Russon Brothers Mortuary Facebook page and this obituary page.
