Evelyn Goff Yates

Evelyn Goff Yates, 81, of Centerville, Utah passed away October 20, 2021 from complications of a fall. She is joining her husband, James Yates and two sons, Craig and Michael. She is survived by her brother Bobby Goff (Linda) and many nieces and nephews as well as her daughter in law Sherry, grandchildren Cory, Brock, Brandon, Nicole (Marcus), as well as two great grandchildren, Kyree and Myles.
Evelyn was born to Layton and Violet May Goff on November 6, 1939 and was one of twelve children. After growing up in Park City, Utah, Evelyn married James Yates and began her family in Centerville. After retiring, Evelyn and James spent their winters with their family in Mesa, Arizona where they made many friends playing dominos and bingo.
Evelyn enjoyed baking her famous pies, crocheting, and catching up with friends and family for hours at a time on the phone. She loved her grandchildren and would talk about them nonstop with anyone that would listen. After her husband passed away in 2006, the Centerville 6th Ward became a very important part of her life. She loved her home teachers, visitors, and neighbors.
Evelyn spent the last few years residing at Barton Creek, making friends with the staff and residents alike. The family would like to thank everyone at Barton Creek for all their love and care.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Bountiful Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
