Evelyn Ray McDonald

September 29, 1931 — June 5, 2021

Bountiful, Utah – Evelyn Ray McDonald age 89 passed away peacefully on June 5, 2021 incident to age.

Evelyn was born September 29, 1931 in Beaver Utah.  She was the daughter of Leonard Clark and Verma Almira Wilden Ray.

She was raised in the small town of Caliente, Nevada.  She graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1949.

She made the “Big Bust” to go to the big city of Salt Lake City. There she attended LDS Business College and lived in the Beehive House where friendships were formed and loving memories were made.

Mom was sent out on an interview for a secretarial position for Rocky Mountain Banknote.  It is there that she met a handsome dark haired brown eyed pressman by the name of Grant McDonald.  They were smitten with each other and fell in love.  They got married and started their family.  They enjoyed life always doing things together as a loving couple.

Mom quit her job and started raising her family.  Mom became a great cook, seamstress, den mother, P.T.A. supported room mother, and homework champion.

After the kids were raised mom and dad purchased property in St. George, Utah, they spent their winters there enjoying their retirement. Mom and dad’s relationship was a great example of man and wife.

Evelyn is survived by her son Ward Brian McDonald (Louisa K.), daughter Cindi Jo McDonald, granddaughters:  April Dawn (Matt), Katherine Anne (Matt), and Chloe Ray; grandsons: Billy Isaac (Libby), Corey Wayne (Ale), Addison Browning, and Andrew Brian; great granddaughters:  Tatum and Lennon; great grandsons: Aden, Isaac, William, Logan, Haydn, Thomas; sisters:  Mary, Marie and Karan; brothers:  Lawrence and Richard; and her loving puppy “Chesai”.

She is preceded in death by husband, Grant, son Mark, mother and father, and brother Clark.

Per Evelyn’s wishes there will be a graveside ceremony for family and close friends.

The service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 11th at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 S. 200 W. Bountiful, Utah.
