Edward G. Burningham, age 88, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at his daughter?s home in Farmington, Utah. Born November 23, 1915 to Thomas Dowers and Rose Garrett Burningham. He was a lifelong resident of Bountiful where he attended Stoker Elementary and South Davis Jr. High School. During the depression he left school to help provide financial support for his 10 brothers and sisters. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings including ward clerk and stake farm coordinator, and was a dedicated home teacher. Ted married his sweetheart, Blanche Hansen on August 30, 1941. Their marriage was solemnized December 8, 1969 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on February 20, 1999. Dad served in World War II as a communication technician. He had vivid memories of helping the prisoners in concentration camps as part of the repatriating efforts in postwar Germany. Dad served as a volunteer firefighter in Bountiful for many years and retired as Assistant Chief. As a professional truck driver, he drove for Bountiful Lumber, Smith Milling, Cudahy Packing Co. and F & B Trucklines. Dad loved driving Bus 1 for Special Education students of the Davis County School District. After retirement he enjoyed delivering flowers for Arvin?s Floral. Dad took great pride in his garden on 200 East, providing vegetables and fruits for many friends and family members. He was a very quiet, humble man, rendering service wherever needed. He will be greatly missed by his children: Paul & Karolee Burningham, Glendale, AZ; Brent & Dawna Burningham, Santa Paula, CA; JoEllen & Lynn Beckman, Farmington, UT; Kelly & Lori Burningham, Bountiful; Marla & George Mason, Bountiful; Kurt & Loraine Burningham, Bountiful; Gayle and Mark Wood, Centerville; and Kaye & Lynn Maxfield, Kaysville; 32 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; 10 brothers and sisters: Tom, Henry, Elmer, Marlow, Thatcher, Dora, Rose, Faye, Wilson, and Beverly. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 26, 2004 at 12:00 noon at the Bountiful Tabernacle, 51 South Main. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Monday morning from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
