Darlene Burton

June 13, 1956 — January 7, 2022

Darlene Faye Brantly Burton was born on June 13, 1956 in Corona, California and passed away on January 7, 2022.  Darlene was the daughter of John Paul Brantly and Faye Maxine Archer Brantly being raised in San Diego, California and survived by five siblings: John, Maureen, Rhonda, Robert and Yvonne.  She married Mark Taylor Burton on March 21, 1987 and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.  Mark and Darlene deeply loved each other and have been dedicated in their lives together for 35 years.  Darlene was the cherished mother of 4 children: Anna (Chris) Hansen, Matthew Burton, David (Mackenzie) Burton and Kathlynn Burton.  She was recently blessed with her first grandchild Remington (Remi) Hansen, a precious young granddaughter just turning the age of 2.  She had a love for playing tennis, ice-skating as well as being at the ocean walking on the beach watching a beautiful sunset.  She loved to write stories, sing, enjoyed music, loved to play the piano and drink hot chocolate with lots of whipping cream on top.  She attended Southwestern College, Brigham Young University and became a certified Dental Technician Assistant.  She was a teacher’s assistant at Castle Park Elementary School in San Diego and at Sand Springs Elementary School near her home in Kaysville, Utah.  She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Chile and spoke fluent Spanish.  Most of all, she was a very charitable, giving and especially kind person who always put everyone around her first.  Without question, anyone who ever knew her would tell you she was one of the kindest most giving and selfless individuals on the face of the earth.  Perhaps one of her greatest attributes in life was her love for children especially her own nurturing and serving them beyond measure. Her beautiful appearance and smile with such kindness immediately resonated with all children.  They became immediately comfortable and felt safe and happy in her presence.  They responded to her kindness and gentle fun way.  This attribute found her in many callings teaching little children in the primary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She loved this calling more than all others and would spend hours in her lesson preparation making and cutting out many different pictures and teaching aids to show the children as she taught them the gospel of Jesus Christ.  At the end of every primary class, she had prepared and left with each child a special package of the things she made for them to take home reminding them of the teachings she had taught.  These and all children that ever had the blessing of being in her presence loved her dearly especially her own children.  She had a deep affirming testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ, loved righteousness, was pure in heart, truly without guile returning to our Heavenly Father in innocence worthy of his glory worlds without end.  Our hearts will ache without her presence until we reunite with her again one day.

Funeral Services and Viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary at 1941 North Main Street, Farmington, Utah on Friday, January 14, 2022 between 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.  Additional Viewing will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Chapel located at 235 North Bonneville Lane, Kaysville, Utah, January 15, 2022 between 9:45 am – 10:45 am.  Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am on the same day and location.
