Craig Keith Bush

May 5, 1946 — August 10, 2022

Craig Keith Bush (76) of Farmington, Utah returned peacefully to his Heavenly Father on August 10, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones after a valiant 4-year battle with cancer.

Craig was born May 5th, 1946 in Tooele, Utah. He spent most of his childhood years in the fresh open air of Clover, Utah with his older brother (Dan Bush) and 3 younger sisters (Chris Hale, Shelly Goins, and Lori Bush) where he enjoyed fishing, participating in sports, and playing fun and harmless pranks on his family and friends. He talked about the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of his hometown often.

He graduated from Tooele High School in 1964. This is where he met his sweetheart and eternal companion, Janice Garrard. Their courtship blossomed for 2 years with many dances, movies, bowling, and endless days at the Mill Pond. On January 19, 1966, they were married and began their family. They later sealed their marriage for time and all eternity on May 4, 1973, in the Provo, Utah Temple.  During their 56 years of marriage, they raised 6 beautiful children, Dave Bush (Katie), Steve Bush (Andrea), Jodie Dyer (Brandon), Jason Bush, Dena Bangerter (Drew), Cody Bush (Kim) and have thoroughly enjoyed their 19 grandchildren and 8½ great-grandchildren with open arms. Craig was so proud of his family and all their accomplishments and bragged about each one of them to anyone who would listen. He and his sweet wife have built a beautiful legacy with so much love and devotion to their family.

Craig had many accomplishments of his own during his journey here on earth. He attended BYU for a short time, was on the Dean’s List, and became an avid and loyal cougar fan for many years.  He joined the Army Reserve and lived in Baltimore, Maryland for a couple of months. He also worked for Kennecott Copper as a Millwright for 30 years. Towards the end of his time at Kennecott, he started his entrepreneurial business with his good friend, which he proudly called his Junkin’ Business (Craig Bush Sales). He would buy and sell surplus and became the middleman for many and made numerous friends and loyal clients during his working years because of his integrity, fairness, and honesty in his interactions. Craig was such a hard worker in everything he did and continued to work up until 2 weeks before his passing. Some of Craig’s favorite past times were watching and coaching his children and grandchildren in sports and attending many dance recitals and countless school events. He was always there to encourage, support and love. He also enjoyed golfing with his sons and grandsons. Some would say he perfected the helicopter while playing. Collecting coins, playing chess, cards with his lifelong friends, watching old movies, and dancing with his sweetheart were just some of the things he enjoyed.

Craig was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a devoted disciple of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He served his fellow men in many different callings throughout his life and served in 4 Bishoprics and on the High Council before becoming a Bishop of the Farmington 13th Ward. He loved those he served, and they loved him. He loved the temple and was a wonderful example of how to provide, preside and protect. He loved the Lord, and it showed in everything he did.

Craig is preceded in death by his Father (David Dean Bush), Mother (Lorraine Stonebraker Bush), Sister (Shelly Goins), Sister (Judith Bush), Mother-in-law (Eudean Garrard), Father-in-law (Kenneth Garrard), and Son-in-law (Brandon Dyer).

Craig is survived by his beautiful and loving wife, Janice Bush, his 6 amazing children, 3 wonderful daughters-in-law and a son-in-law, 19 sweet grandchildren and 8½ adorable great-grandbabies! His brother, sister-in-law (Dorothy), 2 sisters, 4 brothers-in-law (Richard, Scott, Mike, Matt) and 4 sisters-in-law (Joyce, Billie, Teri, Julie) and many nieces and nephews that will love and miss him dearly!

The family would like to thank nurses Ashley and Dee for their service to Craig from Inspiration Hospice. They took such great care of our husband, father, grandpa, and great papa these last couple of weeks. They are angels here on earth!

We will be celebrating Craig’s life on Sunday evening, August 14, 2022, for those who would like to join us at Russon Brothers Mortuary (1941 N Main Street, Farmington) from 5:00-7:00pm.
