Clifford L. Davies Jr.

March 21, 1943 — April 27, 2022

Clifford Lavaun Davies, Jr., beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully in his home after a long illness on April 27, 2022 at the age of 79 years. Clifford was born on March 21, 1943 to Clifford L. Davies, Sr. and Adella Myrtel von Niederhausern in Logan, Utah. He was the oldest of four children.

As a child Cliff was active in scouts and loved to go bow hunting with his father. In 1955 he received the State Youth Championship as a member of the Mount Ogden Archers Association.

In 1961 he graduated from Ben Lomond High School in Ogden, Utah. In that same year he received the Duty to God award from the LDS Church and later served a two-year mission in Switzerland.

After returning from his mission, he courted his high school pen pal, Helga Wulf, from Germany. They were married in 1967 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they raised two children Sven Davies, now living in Chicago, Illinois, and Heide Davies, living in Sacramento, California.

In 1969 Cliff graduated with a B.A. degree from Weber State University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy.

Cliff served in the Utah National Guard from 1966 – 1974. During his career he worked as a business owner and social worker. In 1983 he began work with the Army as a civilian. In 2008, Cliff retired from Inscom as a special program office intelligence operations specialist serving the US Army in Europe with 25 years of service.

His hobbies included painting, golf, leatherwork, calligraphy and reading. During a 5-year tour in Munich, Germany Cliff spent his weekends building string instruments to include Mandola’s, Harps and a Monochord.

Cliff and Helga were married for 53 years and some of their happiest times were vacations with family, camping in the Uintah’s and travelling in a houseboat on Lake Powell.

Cliff is survived by his wife Helga, his sister DeeAnn Worrell and his brothers Leland Davies and Benjamin Davies, his son Sven Davies, daughter Heide Davies and two grandchildren: Madelyn Davies and Samantha Davies.

The family would like to express special thanks to Applegate Hospice for their loving in home care and support during the past year.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Saturday, April 30th between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm at the Russon Mortuary, 1941 North Main, Farmington, Utah 84025.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 2:30 pm on the same day at the Lindquist Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. in South Ogden.
