Charles “Chuck” D. Morris

June 19, 1930 — March 5, 2020

Charles “Chuck” D. Morris, 89, of North Salt Lake, UT passed on March 5th, 2020 after a brief illness.

He is survived by, his wife of 65 years, Leona, sister Patsy, two married sons, Richard and Russell, three Grandchildren, four Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was born June 19th 1930, at Dr. Childers office in Durango, Colorado. He grew up on a ranch, hunting in the mountains of Durango, which were his back yard.

He was many things in life, a cowboy – an extra in several films: Across the Wide Missouri, and Ticket to Tomahawk. Where he rode Dusty, the strawberry roan. A musician and hunter. He proudly served his county in the United States Air Force – Strategic Air Command – RB36. Prospector and businessman. Charles also worked for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, in many roles, his favorite being pilot, from 1966 until his retirement in 1989.

He converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with his wife Leona in December of 1962. A dedicated servant of those in need. He loved the out of doors, was a gentle, wise, Husband and Father, filled with patience and love.

His final testimony, “John 2 & Alma 6, its all true.”

“We were taught somewhat in all the learning of our Father.” 1 Nephi 1:1 – “We really love this man.”  – Russ Morris.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 14, 2020 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 261 East Center Street, North Salt Lake, Utah 84054.

In place of flowers the family asks donations be made either to the Humanitarian Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or to Huntsman Cancer Foundation, in Memory of Charles D. Morris.
