Carol Berven

April 30, 1929 — April 17, 2021

North Salt Lake, UT- Carol Jean Simpson Berven passed away with her beloved husband by her side on April 17, 2021. She was born on April 30, 1929 to Edward Moses Simpson and Edna Faye Tuke Simpson in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from South High School in 1946, and worked for Surety Life Insurance Company as assistant to the President. She married Byron Rolph Berven on October 11, 1952, and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 27, 1974. They resided in Lynwood, California until they relocated their family to North Salt Lake, Utah. Carol was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in various presidencies and positions in the Primary, Relief Society and Young Women’s organizations. In 2000, she and Byron served a mission at the Family History Center in St. George, Utah.

Carol was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, whose family was her greatest joy. She is survived by her husband Byron, son John Edward (Lynette) Berven, daughter Diane Burton, brother Edward William (Carol Beth) Simpson and brother-in-law Douglas Stephen (Linda) Moore. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren – Jason Berven, Brittney Gatherum, Jamie Naylor, Aimee Schreiner, Jordan Berven, Lindsey Rasmusen, Emily Stapley, and Kelsey ZoBell; 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Faye House and Deanna Moore.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 23, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the Bountiful Utah Orchard Stake Center, 3599 South Orchard Drive, where a viewing will be held 10 – 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com.
