Blaine Pulley

Blaine Bateman Pulley, age 88, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 10, 2008 in St. George, Utah at the home of his daughter, Mary Lynn. He was born May 22, 1919 in Lehi, Utah to Mirl Bateman and Ether O. Pulley. As a child and teen he and his brother, Howard worked at Washington School where they learned the value of hard work. He attended West High School where he graduated early for his induction in the U.S. Army. In World War II he served honorably and always loved his country. After his return from military service he worked for over 40 years at the Union Pacific Railroad as a car foreman. At his reluctant retirement, he said that he’d miss his railroad family and how much they meant to him. Blaine married Myrtle Marie Frazier on October 26, 1949 and was a devoted husband and father. Blaine and Marie were members of the LDS Bountiful 23rd Ward where he enjoyed working with and helping his neighbors. He would also like to thank all of his friends and neighbors for all their love and support, many of whom will miss his immaculate yard, his award winning garden, and giant tomatoes. They lived in Bountiful 44 years. Their daughter tended to their needs for many years and the family is especially grateful for Janene’s love and service. He is survived by his wife, Marie; daughters, Janene Phillips Robin, Devennie Lander Scott, Mary Lynn Barber Gordon; and his son Dan Diane; 16 grandchildren;18 great-grandchildren and his sister, Belva Mackay. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main where friends and family may call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
