Betty Jo Jeppson

August 14, 1948 — February 7, 2021

Betty Jo Jeppson was born August 14, 1948 in Idaho Falls, ID. She lived in several different places over the course of her life to include Idaho, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. Of these places – she would fondly recall how much she cherished Greeley, Colorado. It is there that her family became active members in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and where her Dad served as Bishop.

Betty loved music and sports, and both were a huge part of her life. She competed in the Miss Ricks contest in college and performed regularly in ward, stake, and regional choirs. More recently, many of her favorite memories were attending plays and musicals in downtown Salt Lake with friends and family. Her love of sports, however, is what most will remember her for. She was a competitive softball and volleyball player and played well into her sixties. While she loved playing – she also enjoyed coaching and refereeing. Above all – BYU football was her passion; she was a 27-year season ticket holder, missing only 5 games during that time. Her knowledge and love for the game will be missed by all who loved to talk football with her.

Betty was valued and successful wherever she went both in her personal and professional life. She was proud of the 40+ year career she had built at John Henry Insurance and had a genuine love for her clients there. She also had a deep love for the members of her ward in Farmington as she developed relationships with many while serving in the Relief Society, primary and choir over the years. She was loved by friends and family alike for her generous, kind and fun-loving spirit. She will be missed by all that knew and met her.
