Barbara L Williams

January 24, 1962 — April 2, 2022

Barbara Lynne Williams our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend returned to her heavenly home Saturday, April 2, 2022. She was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on January 24, 1962 to parents Larry Odis and Evelyn Terry Miller. She was the fifth of seven children. Barbara was raised in Arco, Idaho where she graduated from Butte County High School.

Barbara was a consistent honor-roll student all while being actively involved in various student clubs and organizations. She received an associate degree from Rick’s College in the spring of 1982 and met her future husband, Gregory Van Williams the summer following. They dated and were married November 26, 1982 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple. After several moves between Idaho and Utah due to education and career, they settled in Kaysville, Utah where they raised their four children.

Barbara influenced the lives of many children through her love of reading as she worked as an elementary school librarian for over 15 years. She was often recognized by previous students even years after teaching them. She especially loved reading to and with her grandchildren.

Barbara loved to travel with her husband and enjoyed nature immensely. She visited many national parks and loved to hike. She also loved long road trips and enjoyed taking in the scenery along the way. Music was a special part of her life and she enjoyed listening to her children sing, play the piano, and watching them perform.  Singing was an important part of her life as she participated in both choir and musicals in high school.  She carried that love throughout her life as an active member in ward choir. She loved going to the theater and shared that love with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Barbara was a devoted wife and mother who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a true best friend to her husband, constantly giving love and support through every action. She had a unique understanding of each of her children’s needs and always made time to help and support them in any way that they needed. She loved to serve and selflessly gave of her time and talents, ministering to others and dedicating her life to the Lord.

After her cancer diagnosis in June of 2017, she courageously fought for more time with her family. Through her faith and unwavering optimism, she was blessed with a miraculous amount of additional health and life that enabled her to create enduring memories with her loved ones.

She is survived by her husband Greg Williams, and her children Kyler (Lucy) Williams, Annette (Kelen) Solt, Devin (Lynsey) Williams, Lauren (Eric) Tingey; 13 grandchildren; parents Larry & Evelyn Miller; siblings Debby Neuman, Doug Miller, Paul (Tammy) Miller; brother-in-law Dell Lowder, Allen (Gina) Miller, and David (JoAnna) Miller.

She is preceded in death by her sister Wendy Lowder; brother-in-law Lloyd Neuman; and sister-in-law Vonda Miller.
