Austin Jordan Hales

May 31, 1988 — December 31, 2020

Austin Jordan Hales 5/31/88 – 12/31/20  It is with great sadness, that Austin Jordan Hales passed away unexpectedly over the New Years’ Holiday while vacationing with friends in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Austin Jordan Hales, beloved son of Brent Hales and Jolene Taylor, was born on May 31, 1988 in Salt Lake City and grew up in the Davis county area.  He graduated from Davis High School in 2006 and attended the University of Utah for a few years before settling on a career in computer technology support. At the time of his death, Austin was working at Dealertrack (Cox Automotive), in the Salt Lake Valley.

Austin’s aptitude for technology started at an early age by learning his alphabet on the first generation Macintosh computer, and continuing with his love of computer programming, gaming, and entertainment technology. He was always the one called upon to fix, setup or recommend new technology to his family and friends.

Austin was a fun loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He had a great love for his dog and constant companion Dolce’.  In recent years he gained an interest in camping and music festivals. He attended many in and out of state festivals with his close group of friends. His friends were very important to him and he was always looking forward to the next group outing. Sadly, his close friend Dustin Childs, also passed away with him in Mexico.

Austin is survived by his Mother and stepfather, Jolene and Brandon Taylor, his Father and stepmother, Brent and Tonya Hales, his sister MaKenzie Shumway (Kyle), stepsister Daysha Criddle (Scott), along with his loving Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and co-workers, who will all  miss him terribly. Austin is preceded in death by his grandmother Cheryl Hales, and uncle Reed Christensen.

A small private family graveside service will be held Friday, January 15th at the Kaysville City Cemetery, with support from Russon Mortuary of Bountiful, Utah.  Online guestbook at www.RussonMortuary.com.
