Aurora Rivera

January 8, 1917 — February 7, 2011

Aurora Castillo Rivera, our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011 at the age of 94 peacefully in her home. Aurora was born on December 28, 1916 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to Juan Castillo and Josefa Quiniones Cruz. She married Eduardo Martinez Rivera. She worked at Dubonett Glove Factory as a seamstress until retirement. Aurora was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed crocheting, drawing, embroidering, painting, sewing, and singing. Her favorite morning routine was to read the newspaper and complete the word puzzles with a cup of coffee. Aurora is survived by two children, son John Rivera and daughter, Providencia Davino. She has four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eduardo, and children Marina Martinez Castillo, Martin Martinez Castillo, and Juan Franciso Martinez Castillo. A Viewing will be held in her honor at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street in Bountiful, Utah on Wednesday, February 9th from 6-9 pm, with funeral services on Thursday, February 10th at 11am. Interment to follow – Bountiful Cemetery.
